Hi everybody:

I am interested in a Debris Grapple Bucket (AL1560H) for my new tractor.

I have the following questions:

Is this like a regular bucket with teeth on top which can bite, i.e. close the bucket?

Can the bucket of the 泥ebris Grapple Bucket be compared to the regular bucket or the 塗eavy-duty Bucket?

Thank you,
Regards,
FRIZ

FRIZ,

With the 400CX loader I would go with a 72" heavy duty loader bucket with bolt on cutting edge, the 48" rail pallet forks and a good grapple bucket. Each of these will do a good job depending on the task at hand. You would be suprized how useful the pallet forks are. I would not go with a 4 in 1 bucket as they cost about the same as the other three combined.

I don't know that I'd compare the AL1560H to a regular bucket at all, it just has a flat bottom and can't hold much in the way of materials.

Are you looking for something closer to an AT1016?

Hi:

I'd disagree a little with that. I have the 72" version (And I have a 61" HD bucket). For just scooping the grapple bucket holds a ton, it's a lot deeper on the bottom than the regular bucket. It has short sides so it'll spill out the sides but if you want to dual use it it does work for dirt and stuff. Digging is tougher since it's so long you don't get as much breakout force at the tip of the bucket.

I wouldn't say it would replace a regular bucket, but you can use it. Also a regular bucket with a grapple won't hold half as much as the debris grapple due to the previously mentioned length of the bottom. I'll measure both of mine this weekend and let you know the difference but put it this way, I (for the winter or transport) put my 61" bucket INSIDE of my 72" grapple bucket and can close the grapples almost all the way and move it around or just store it that way. It's huge compared to the 61" HD bucket. (In fact, I have two dents on my 61" from the pivots crushing the 61" bucket on the top when I pushed it in TOO far.

Just my .02.

I have the earlier John Deere version of this bucket.

Not that the sides of the bucket are open. That way you can have tress, etc hanging off the side.

It is one heavy duty bucket.

I run it both on my 5525 and 4720 - it come from the factory with pegs for both tractors.

I just purchased the John Deere debris grapple bucket, it is much larger than the 400cx heavy duty bucket.

It is very deep even with the cut down sides I bet it will cary as much or more the regular bucket.

It seems very well built, and I got a great deal at $1,775.

That is a smoking deal.

Stuff falls out the side, but it is a purpose built tool. What I really like about mine it is that it will fit on both my tractors. The 400X handles it fine.
