I was planning to come again this year but will need to be helping out my sister post op that weekend in Virginia. Sorry to miss it.

For those of you who have a chance to go, do it. We had a great time last year and it was really a great opportunity to get questions answered and to watch demos. Watch out though as is no free lunch. Rick will try to sell you something and will likely make it worth your while to do so. Don't worry about bringing a trailer to haul your purchases home as he'll sell you one of those too.

Wishing a speedy recovery to your sister.

Sincerely,
Joel

Does anyone know what time this starts? I know the food starts around lunch time, but is there anything planned any earlier, or is it a drop in type of thing the whole day?

See you there.

Jon

It will start around 10:00 am unless I have any volunteers for the night before to help with setting up...and unstressing  Rick before the festivies begin!!! We are going to have alot of the mfg reps & other demos available and of course the MAC Tool guy with his air conditioned truck again to cool off in. I hope it is alot cooler this year than last year. Island we are going to miss you in your "Got Grapple" shirt this year! Any requests will be greatly appreciated, oh and by the way IXLR8 we have 2 of those 3 pt hitch QA conversions in stock this year for you to put in the Jetta..;) Anyone that is traveling from a ways away we hope you have a safe trip to our place. Can't wait to see everyone again this year. Joel we will have the bucket filled with ice to cool Desiree off in this year again! 9 days and counting down, no PRESSURE...

Good thing my Colorado can only tow 3000 lbs. Keeps that DK65 and trailer beyond reach...for that weekend at least....

You know that Rick is going to be following you home Saturday evening in his new truck towing that 65 for you. Your new trailer will therefore be filled with implements.

That's right, Desiree found her way into the bucket last year. Which reminds me, you've got a nice, polite kid there (I know, not a kid any more, but as a dad of a mini-version of Desiree I take the liberty to use the "kid" term freely) and looking forward to seeing the entire team again.

Real nice group.

Island will be missed, I feel for Deputy, Island is the only one who doesn't return Deputy's conversation with a blank, bewildered stare.

I am really looking forward to the trip.

I'll be emailing with a few parts I need to grab while there.

Will you have any tooth bars in stock that will fit my bucket?

Also, will you have sweatshirts, hats, jackets and the like in the store?

Thanks,
Joel

I'm looking forward to the "getaway" too.

I was hoping to represent Island in spirit at the festivities. I planned to accomplish that by wearing my "I Love Hot Moms" tee-shirt, but my brother took it (it actually got him out of a speeding ticket on his way home!!). All I have left is the "Canadians Like it on Top" tee-shirt. Not appropriate south of the border....

I, too, hope your sister has a full and speedy recovery, Island. My mother has hip replacement surgery on the 3rd, and my wife (an RN) is going to accompany her for a few days thereafter. Such an arrangement is significantly more utilitarian. My presence in a hospital is only practical when I am a patient on morphine.

Amy - if I could, I would come down the night before to help, but I have a packed work calendar next week. I wish I could help to "de-stress" Rick, but I'm not that kind of fellow..... All I can do is let you know that last year was great and this year will be even better!!

Joel - good choice with the toothbar. A great ROCK accessory.

I'm going to miss being there. Good company and fun times. I was hoping to drive home in a new DK50se cab but I guess that will need to wait until next year.:D

Quit teasing Rick, Island! He'll show up at your house right after he delivers at mine!:p

Quit teasing Rick, Island!

If we didn't tease him he'd worry we didn't love him. Besides, you know he wants to sell you that DK65 and I know he'd love to bring me a cab someday.:D

oh and by the way IXLR8 we have 2 of those 3 pt hitch QA conversions in stock this year for you to put in the Jetta..;)

A quick review of these QA 3pt hitch converters: I've used one now for about a year. It has a number of nice features like two Class 3 hitch recepticles in different planes in addition to the 3pt hitch. (Maybe one is a Class 2:confused:)

What I have found to be a great combination is mounting a York landscape type rake on the thing with the tines pointing forwards. That lets you see exactly where and what you are raking. Great for getting close to obstacles and for moving brush or leaf piles on a lawn without gouging the lawn (still need to be careful but as you are looking directly at it that part is easier). You can control the bite of the rake tines instantly with the curl/dump control. Sweet. Also nice for screening, moving and leveling dirt with the rake. If you had a rear blade I would imagine it would make a nice snow plow too. Using the Class 3 hitch and a bit of 2x2 tubing allows for many creative possibilities besides just moving trailers. Using one of the hitch mounted platforms for carrying extra luggage on your car allows you to carry a generator or welding set up into the field etc. Portapotty, bike rack, BBQ, ice chest....think of the possibilities. I already have a tree boom but I would clearly have not needed that if I'd gotten this adapter first. Anything you can put on a Class 3 hitch you can put on this thing. I intend to make a 8ft flag holder for the hitch this year and drive the tractor in our island's funky 4th of July parade:). The adapter is solidly built and no maintenance. I forget what I paid but it was a very fair price. Nice piece of kit as the Brits would say.
