I've been looking at the 5000 series for a few months now and picked up one of the sales brochures at a dealer back in March or April. In the spec. table of the brochure it lists the 3ph lift capacity and has a 5045e-5075e at 3,192 lbs. I stopped at another dealer today and the 5000 series brochure that he gave me lists these tractors at a 2,204 lb. capacity. That's a pretty significant difference... What explains the sudden change?

is it possible, they're using two different measuring points at the ball and 24 inches past the ball they all like to make these claims most of the measurements are at the ballpoint as you go out obviously the lift capacity drops checked in Nebraska test see if the tractor is listed that usually is the truth . I too am in the market for another tractor I usually buy new Holland but lately John Deere deals are worth looking into I need something 80 hp plus PTO, not too concerned for cab need to save some money you can get a whole lot tractor when you drop the cab.

When tractors get in the size of 80+ pto hp, the resale gets really difficult without a cab in my area. I know of a dealer with a 2007 Case-IH Maxxum 125 (about 105 pto hp) with 900 hours, no cab and he is asking less than $30,000. Seems really cheap to me but he has had that tractor for months.

Both of the sales brochures say that the listed weights are 24" behind the ball, but maybe the first is a misprint of the weight at the ball? I'm stumped, I guess I'll have to ask a dealer.
