So how do you like your 3038e so far? Has it met your expectations? I've ordered one, but apparently they're really popular & there's a two month backorder on them.

I know what you mean. Mine was the last one on the lot and another guy was looking at it at the time.

So far I really like it. It seems to be well thought out and engineered. For instance, the FEL will lift the front of the tractor off the ground easily and it will lift a heaping-full bucket of wet sand with no problem but you can tell that there isn't much reserve left to start breaking stuff. In other words, the hydraulics aren't so powerful that they'll let you rip the tractor apart. Cutting grass in low gear with the forward pedal pushed all the way down is about as fast as you can comfortably cut grass and stay in the seat so you don't have to try to "feather" the control for the "right" speed. Just put it in low and push the pedal to the floor. I LOVE the eHydro.

I almost bought a 3520 but decided to put that extra money into implements instead. I figured I'd use the 3038e with the extra implements more than I'd use a 3520 that has more features but no implements. I realize the 3520 is a lot more tractor but if I need to do something REALLY heavy duty my father-in-law has one of these parked in my back yard for use on the hay farm:

I finished mowing the 35 acre hayfield this morning. I checked the speed with a GPS unit and wide open in low gear it mows at 5.4 mph. About as fast I care to mow.

When I mow the long, straight areas of my property with the RFM, I run in B range, 4th gear. That puts me at 5.5 mph, anything faster than that and it doesn't leave a nice cut. Also that's about as fast as I want to go for a turning speed anyway.
