#1 is closer to Kero/jet fuel; $2 fuel was diesel b/4 the EPA took over...
Upon further investigation, it was found to be written as "#2 Fuel Oil" on the receipt. The delivery company is still in business. I talked to the owner and was told that diesel fuel was often sold as heating oil whenever the price structure allowed it. He also told me that before the state legislated a defierence, #2 diesel and #2 heating oil were the same thing. The diesel oil just had additives as required by the fanchise agreement.
The oil is not dyed and it is clean looking. At the very least, I would run it through a filter and water seperator BEFORE pouring it into the tractor. I am still thinking about this.The price is right, but I really do not wish to do something so stupid that it ends up costing a lot of money.
