GL 40 series pto question?

Do you use the clutch when you engauge/disengauge the pto?

I own a 3240 and always use the clutch to engage the pto. I typically do not use the clutch to disengage.

The clutch on the floor has nothing to do with engaging/diengaging the pto the Grand L GST MODELS. The little pto lever behind the seat does all the work.

I have the same 3540 and the clutch does disengage the PTO but it is not necessary. Just idle down and engage PTO level under NO load and then throttle up and go to work.
