On a current production 60" MMM the bolts that secure the blades appear to be 1 1/8". Converting 1.125" to millemeters yields 28.58mm . So are they 1 1/8" or 29mm??

I had my wife buy 30MM socket from sears to remove my blades with on the 60" deck. It fits pretty good.

I think the blade bolt heads are 28mm. My 1 1/8 wrench works fine but has a little slop in it.
Im ashamed to say I don't remember what mine were, but in any case you might want to consider an impact driver, either air or electric-- those nuts can be a bear to get off, especially since everything can (and will) rotate as you try to remove them!

I'll second the impact driver. That makes it a breese to remove & re-install.

like thavil said, and me in second post, 30mm socket seems to be the way to go to remove the bolt for bx 50 series 60" deck. When you said current production, What did you mean by that ? You might have a slightly differnt size bolt then the BX 50 series, but i doubt it.

The 54 mmm on my g1800 uses 30 mm. Interesting, this must be the standard kubota size for the past 20 years or so.
