aluminum dump trailer

   / aluminum dump trailer #11
It needs to be aluminum because I want to pull a 10000 pound machine in it behind my pickup. The steel ones are just to heavy to do that. If I can make it work, then I don't need to buy a dump and an equipment trailer, so that helps out with justifying the cost as well.

I am assuming you can't go to a 16k dump because of CDL reasons.

Anyone know who makes aluminum dump trailers? I am looking for a 14000gvw 16 foot dump, and I want to haul a machine in it, so the only way I can stay legal is if its aluminum. But they are hard to find. Is there anyone who makes them?
Thanks.

I'm in the same situation. I need a light dump trailer with a big payload and 16' long. I want a dump trailer for versatility, but I've come to realize an equipment trailer has the most payload.

I need to pull a 8,700lb mini-ex on a 12K trailer. Most equip trailers weigh ~3,500. My max bumper pull capacity is 12K.
That puts me a little over 12K. I only have about 1,800 lbs of tongue weight left until my truck hits the 9,900 lb max GVWR because of the service body full of tools.

12K dump trailers are too heavy empty, so I can't do a dump trailer.

Might be OK in "God's Country", but it's an "Out of Service" decal here.

Maybe you just need a truck with more than a 9900# GCWR:rolleyes:

Those Alum-Line trailers are artwork ! I'm betting they are scary-expensive.

OK, I'll get to work on trading it in tomorrow. ;)

You're good at picking up typos.

The max GCWR is ~21,000. The GVWR is 9,900. I will exceed the GVWR if my pin weight from my trailer puts more than 1,800 lbs on the rear of my truck snce it weighs 8,100 lbs with a service body & tools.

well, heres what I want to put in it. And I talked to Alumaline, thanks for the link. They come in at just under $14000 for a 16 footer. And it weighs 3800 pounds. :D

I see you took my advice and bought a "real" (cab) machine and not that little toy. :)

I hope I'm on your Christmas card mailing list now! ;)

However, if you spend $14,000 on a dump trailer, I'm not sure I want to be associated with you any more.:p That's nuckin futs expensive!

You know the old saying about aluminum versus steel...."half the weight, but twice the price".

you like my new toy? cab AC 4 in 1 and a pin grabber. Its not here yet. Should be seeing it today or tomorrow. As for the trailer, hat price is actually pretty good. I'm Canadian and we are used to getting Ukfayed on equipment purchases. A steel 16 foot dump here would be around $12000.00. That alumaline would be around $16000.00 CDN.

Like it??? I love it.

Finally someone smart enough to look at the smaller machines built by the bigger guys. I bet that thing rips that M-59 you were considering a new ___hole.
