My guess would be that it was a full size ag tractor. That may be why they had such a hard time stopping it.
Not to dump on the stupidity of the police or Germans, but why didn't they just follow him, heck at 12mph they could have just had a cop jog behind him and arrest him when he got home.

Pretty irresponsible reporting if you ask me. No mention of the make or model of the tractor. How many hours on it? Any mods? What implement was on it if any? Did it have a FEL? And most important to us TBN folks... Was he using synthetic or conventional oil?
