Hello I have a Cub Cadet 2160 which recently will not start it just seems to make a fast clicking noise. The sound seems to be coming from this part

can anyone help me out.....

Thanks

That part is the solenoid. Clicking could mean a weak battery or bad connections. Clean your battery cables, both ends and look for corrosion.

I've tried even hooking it up to a jumper box because I wondered that is it possible it solenoid is bad?

you start with the tractor's battery. Clean it's connections as O)liver detailed. Try starting. If still just a click, take apart and CLEAN all the other heavy wire start circuit connects. Pay close attention to connection surfaces being clean, bright.
If still trouble, remove tractor battery and take to shop for a load text. Re-install if OK or replace. If still just a click, get someone who knows electrical troubleshooting to help determine what's wrong (sw, solenoid, wiring, starter, locked engine, etc.).

You can eliminate the solenoid very quickly. Take a good-sized screwdriver and jumper across the the 2 large terminals on the solenoid (the ones with the red covers). If it cranks the engine the solenoid is bad. If it doesn't, you have problems elsewhere - battery, cables etc. Don't use your best shiny new screwdriver since it might make a couple small burn marks.

Bob, I love it! If you look at the 2 or 3 large screwdrivers in my toolbox, you'll see every one has solenoid "welding" marks on them. Not normally from tractors, more likely inboard boat engines.

Norm, you've received good advice here, go with it. I have a feeling you'll have it solved shortly, either bad connections or bad battery or both. Good luck.

I tried this the engine did not turn over what it sounded like was an electric motor straining to move but can't I assume probably then it is the starter motor I wouldn't imagine it would be the engine it self.

Norm, read rcbe's post again. Disconnect and clean the battery terminal connections first, and have the battery load tested. It may be as simple as that, but you have to take the steps to find out. Its not likely to be a bad starter motor in my opinion.

I guess someone here has to say it, so I guess it has to be me. CHECK AND CLEAN ALL GROUNDS! Make sure that you have shiny happy bare metal where the grounds bolt to the frame.

If you have a voltmeter you can check the voltage at the starter terminal. It should be 12.6 with a fully charged battery before you crank it. It probably shouldn't drop below 10 volts while cranking. One other thing to check is to remove the spark plugs and see if you can turn the engine pulley by hand. If not you may have a seized up engine.
