Where did you get the 122.9 belt?

I got the part number (B120 - Product# 90032120) from the Gates website. There is an auto parts store nearby that carries Gates belts, so I had them special order it for me. I had to pay a few bucks more than NH, but wanted to see if it actually measured to spec' - it does (122 7/8").

I have communicated with the TBN "Messick's" member. He was very helpful, and refered me to their "tech guy". I spoke to him yesterday, and he didn't recall hearing about any issues with the belts, but was going to check, and get back to me today. I'm also going to ask him if he knows what prompted the spindle re-design.

I'm also really curious about "Haymaker's" mower. NH doesn't show the 930B in their product listing anymore, and I'm wondering whether they're bringing one in from another dealer, or if he's actually getting another model. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Thanks for the belt info.

You're welcome.
I spoke to the "Tech guy" at Messick's yesterday. He said he couldn't find any reference to any notices from NH about the short belts. Fortunately, they happened to have one of the belts in stock. He measured it and said it was about 121 1/2", and was surprised. He said he would look into it further and let me know. I hope it's piqued his curiousity because I'm sure he's got more access to info than I have. He didn't know why the spindles had been redesigned.

Haymaker - any word on your mower?

Ok, I feel like an idiot. For some reasonn I "thought" this was the mower on order. It is, it showed up, a 320GM. Sorry for the confusion. A
nyone tell me what the difference is?

Anyway, I like the cut, short or tall grass, but what were they thinking with the roller skate wheels?

Well, congratulations on the new mower.
One difference is that yours is a rear discharge, as opposed to the 930B being a side discharge.
I can't tell - what is the diameter of the wheels?
I guess that leaves Rayrla and I with the only two 930B's in existence!:D

I would guess the hard rubber wheels at 6", being just a hair over 2" wide. They leave troughs in the lawn. Odd.......

Just as a comparison for you, I measured my wheels today. they are approx. 3" wide by 10 1/4" in diameter. I know what you mean about the "troughs", especially when wet and making tight turns. Have you tried raising the deck up into the lowest "float" position? That seems to help.

The "tech guy" from Messick's called me today. He spoke with NH tech, and they told him there was a short belt problem (belts were labled with the wrong part no.), but that it had "been corrected".
The Messick's guy told him that he had a belt in stock, from a different date code, that measured 121 1/2", and the NH guy told him "well, that's the right belt - it shouldn't be a problem" (????). I'm glad these guys aren't in charge of national security.

Thanks for the tip Welshman. I ran about 1/3 up the "float" and that helped. It is SO wet up here, had to fiddle the height constantly. The stock wheels are way to thin, I'll have to spring for the upgrade kit. They cut into any of the soft spots and squeeze the mud up through the grass. I can't run any higher than I do now, as itll lift too much on the humps.

On a good note, I found out how well the industrial tires work in mud. Ruts make for better runoff!

Wet? Now see that's the problem. You can't let making a living interfere with your grass cutting. when it's dry - just take the day off......
