Each year, the ATV clubs from NH, VT and MA (perhaps more) each climb Mt. Washington NH on a Sunday. Last weekend MA did it, yesterday VT did it.

Here's a couple of videos -- I have quite a bit more that I'm still putzing with.

First, a short of hand-held clips taken on the way up -- most of the time was focused on driving.

Then a much longer one from my hard-mount (using a RAM mount) following a nice 2007 Rhino 660 down to about timberline.

Heres' some pics from the top. Not a real nice day, but it sure could've been worse. It was reported to be 49 degrees and the wind gusting up to 57 mph. It was blowing so hard that it was very difficult to hold the camera steady. Thougt some of you mignt enjoy, since it is a trip you may never get a chance to do...

Man that's looks like fun! I've been up there in cars, trucks, on motorcyles and hiking on foot but not on an ATV yet, I need to join one of those clubs. I've seen a bunch of ATV's at the base whenever I go there but never saw any on the road. I figured there was a trail or something for them. Thanks for the video, it's cool driving down the road looking down on the clouds. :D

Thanks! I enjoy capturing the memories, as long as I don't get totally distracted using the camera -- which I try not to do...

It was certainly chilly on top. I started out in just a T-shirt. I stopped somewhere above 4,000 feet and put on a lined windbreaker, which I wore the rest of the way to the top. After about 15 minutes in that wind up on top, I had to go back to the Rhino and trade the windbreaker for my Goretex jacket...

49 degrees and winds over 40mph, gusting higher (reported to 57mph) means a chill factor in the high-20s to mid-30s...

It was a lot of fun -- it's not often that you can go ride one of these things on the road like that, much less a road with these kinds of views and all the twists and turns...

Once I came back down to about 3,000 feet or so, maybe lower, I turned around and went back up, just to take more video and pictures. I essentially played on the mountain until I used up all my AA batteries (an 8-pack, plus the two in the camera I started with)...

Great pics and video.

I have taken the Cog Railway to the summit three times. I always enjoy the trip. The temperature difference between the base and the summit is always amazing. The wind chill is unreal in the Winter months.

Thanks guys for all the kind words -- glad you enjoyed them. Here's another one you might enjoy -- climbing the mountain a second time, but this time with the camera "hard-mounted" on the RAM mount on the left A-pillar, just above the dashboard. I was pleased at how well this 25HP, 421cc climbed the mountain. Never bogged down, nor did the temp gauge ever move far above 180...

Good Mornin Kent,
Great videos ! My wife and I stayed on Lake Ossippee last summer and we spent a day going up Mt Washington and in the area ! We had 60 mph winds the day we went up, and it was cold !

We are going back again this year, instead of driving up we may try the cog railway !

Thanks again ! :)
