LOL, that is about the size of the one that fell in the shed.

Sorry to hear about your shed.

I could tell in the pic. that the roof was damaged real bad.... Its hard to tell in the picture but on the side where the tree fell, did it tear the wall all the way down ?

I hope you didn't get any equipment or anything else damaged.... And I'm glad that no one was in the shed & got hurt!

I just went and bought material to build 2 wood sheds, and the roof will be a metal roof.... The price of metal has tripled in the past two years.

I hope the price is cheaper in your area.

On the Massey with the two large stumps from the tree.... What is that called ?

It looks like it's very handy and I've never seen one like that in my area.

The first few feet of shed wall are history.

When the truss broke it fell on the hood of our newest (to us) Deere. The adjuster took one look at it and said to order a new one.

I am surprised that your steel is still that much. It had gone up a bit but has droppes ~40% from last years highs but is going to start climbing in the near future. If I had known I would have quoted you price for the steel. I sell some on the side right now but am looking to expand the steel sales some.

The tool on the Massey is a stack mover. We make corn fodder stacks in the fall for cattle bedding. This thing is the best thing there is for moving brush second to a chipper.

In those pictures of the shed it looks like its a total loss....Sorry to hear about the Deere, but glad you had insurance. I just hope you had it on the shed.

Its really a shame when something like this happens.... I had a big popular tree that uprooted 3 years ago & it fell on my 40X60 shed, and it fell right in the middle...(no insurance) I had to tear down and start all over...BUT me & my father-in-law cut ALL trees that would be close to it before i started on a new one.... I learned from that mistake.

I was surprised too when I went to buy the metal-roofing...They said it (might) start going down some when winter gets here, but i had to have it now...They blame the prices on the war....Now you tell me that you could have quoted me on the steel. :D... But you didn't know.

I think you selling metal roofing is a good business to really get into.. Around here just driving down the road you see several people having it installed on their roofs, and the good thing about the metal-roofing on a house, is that you can put it over the shingles.

Yea the 'stack mover on the Massey' looks very handy, especially like you said on brush... If it would fit between the front & rear tires of a small car, you probably could lift the car up & move it. :D

Hope you get your building fixed back right!

Are you going to try and cut the rest of the tree ?

Do you sell a lot of metal sheeting ?

We got started with the demo today.

The rest of the tree is gone except for the stump.

I don't sell much steel yet but thought about advertising it a little and seeing what happens.

That really did some bad damage.. But it looks like you got it cleaned up & ready to start building it back... That's a good choice on taking the rest of the tree down.

After a big popular fell on my building I cut everyone down away from it... But I had to start on a whole new building.

About the metal... I don't know about your area, but around here a lot of people are putting it on houses, barns. etc.. etc.. I really think its a good business to get into.

Good luck on the building.

The metal building business around here has really boomed in the last ten years as well. I'm sure the metal prices have hurt them some but I'm guessing It'll rebound. The fellow here close has done real well. He started out selling other peoples siding and graduated into buying it in rolls and forming it himself. He makes his own trim and custom cuts and breaks to whatever you need. He's move into a new shop and built onto it now. He offers weld up or bolt together kits. I think he calls the bolt together building a "rigid frame". He's probably too far off for most to use but he's at Home - Indaco Metals.

The price of metal is high in this area.. But if you really need it, you just have buy it.

I just bought metal roofing for two woodsheds... I payed $1300 just for the metal.. Now wood prices are real good right now, but three years ago wood was triple than what I payed last week.

I have a friend that owns his own business doing 'continuous gutters,' and his business has slowed down a lot because of the price of metal... But people are still putting the colored metal roofing on houses and barns.

The metal sheds in the link that you posted are a lot cheaper than they are here.... They keep blaming the wars for the price of metal being so high in this area, But in other states the metal isn't as high as it is here.
