Greetings all...long time no posts, but still here w 2445.

Deutz F3L1011F is being stubborn after a fairly long absence and replaced selenoid now simply won't catch...I've checked filters, etc. Fuel is making it to basket but doesn't seem to be getting to injectors. I don't have a manual. Suggestions? Best, sabi

Check the fuel shut off valve. Is it electrical or manual? Bleed all the injectors lines. Do you have glow plugs?

J.J. Electric fuel shut off (replaced last year) clicks when key is turned. No fuel flow to the injectors. Reluctant to pull the pump until resolving other issues? No glow plugs sabi

There is a fuel strainer--it is located above and to the left of the dipstick. Remove it and check that you have fuel flowing.

Also check the fuel filter to ensure that it is not plugged--usually the easiest way is to simply replace it.

The fuel system is supposed to be self priming. I have never had a problem or needed to do anything after opening the fuel system.

I did attempt to bleed injectors but am getting no fuel flow at all. There is fuel to the basket strainer (which had a fair amount of guink in it). Basket and filter were cleaned out as best possible but perhaps the filter flow is still slow or blocked so I'll replace it. I'll report back if that takes care of it.

What kind of gunk? You may need to work backward on your system.

A few notes. I would, like the 425 guys, install a manual fuel cut off at the tank. I don't think our steel tank tractors have a prefilter at the tank, just at the engine. You might want to consider changing all your hoses. Mine cracked and it is a 2002 tractor. I have not changed the return line back to the tank yet. One of these days...

If you don't have fuel at the fuel filter, then blow air back into the tank.

Your tank might be saturated with diesel algae. Clean it out, fresh fuel and some algae preventive.

Contaminant build up resulting from excessive microbial growth and bio-degradation of diesel fuel can cause fuel filter plugging. Micro-organisms, bacteria and enzyme activity, fungus, yeast and mold cause diesel fuel degradation and the formation of waste products. The process is similar to milk turning into cottage cheese, a different form of milk. Of all the microbial debris and waste products in the diesel fuel tank only about .01% is "bugs". Even though microbes may cause and accelerate the process of fuel degradation, it should be clear that the waste products clogging your filter are not the microbes but fuel components which have formed solids.
