Peco has released a product which I have thinking about everytime I pull out the weedwacker. A mower deck mounted weedwacker. The Leader in Lawn Vacs - PECO, Inc. - Z-Trimmer Does anyone have any expierences with this product? At $250.00 it might be worth a try....

I agree it looks interesting. I have a couple of concerns however. First the current draw of up to 30 amps is more than many mower engines produce. Most gas engines up to 25 hp have 15 or 20 amp alternators. Second I question whether it would be powerful enough. Even at 30 amps it would be 360 watts or about one half horsepower. As compared to most gas trimmers this is quite low.

Well, you sure got me looking at this. I think that this would be perfect for mowing along my creek bank if it works. I'm defintely going to found out more about this trimmer.

It would really depend on what weeds you're whacking and where. (say that five times fast)

One of the biggest advantages of a weed whacker IMHO is the maneuverability. I'll whack areas that I could mow with the deck. It's just easier to get at with the whacker.

Just hang a walk behind push mower out from the side of your tractor.
