JD subsoiler model identification

Can anyone help identify what model of john deere subsoiler this is? I can make out JOHN DEERE on one side, but thats it. It has the manual trip for lowering and raising and a lever for depth adjustment. It has been on the farm for many years not been used till just a few days ago. The thing worked perfectly being pulled buy the 790. Although, I can adjust it to be to much for 27 HP!

Don't know the model number but it looks like a good design to me. I like the parabolic beam as it takes less power to pull. Bet it makes a good parking brake for a 27 hp tractor too.

Yep, doubles as a good parking break. I was also surprised on how easily it pulled and while deeper than other 3pt models. Thats why I would like to see what parts are available. Curious if deere is good on having parts for "elderly" implements such this subsoiler. For the most part, design is simple but and many parts could make myself. Looks good just parked in the lawn too.....

I believe that it is called a Model 10 subsoiler. I went to the JD Museum in Moline, IL when I was doing research on a fair project about 15 years ago. I restored one of these, though mine doesn't have a coulter blade on the front.

I think you're looking at zero parts available. You'll be making whatever you need so don't break anything.
It really is a unique piece of equipment and you could probably sell it to the right person for whatever a new ripper would cost.

I looked up a model #15 on JDparts.com parts catalog #129 - No. 15 Subsoiler. It resembles the one you have except the coulter in parts catalog is different. I think the coulter on the subsoiler you have is from a moldboard plow. Can you see any casting numbers??

OLD thread but Thanks fellas for the input. I found out a little more on this from my ol' man, It is a no.15 jd sub-soiler. It did have the mole attachment but came out of the ground one day minus the mole I was told. My grand father bought it used complete with coulter and mole and extra shovels or 'points' to pull with his SC case tractor.

I did not look for any casting numbers on the coulter and since has been parked long enough for the rust cover the shovel and the grass the rest of the implement. Coulter very well could be from another implement far as anybody knows if they where not standard on the JD #15 sub-soiler.

If you look at the parts catalog you'll see that the #15 subsoiler had a rigid mounted coulter not a swinging type such as on your unit. That's why I previously stated I thought the coulter on yours is off a moldboard plow.
