Backhoe YW-6 Backhoe no guts side to side?

Hello, I have a YW-6 backhoe and it has no power/guts when moving the hoe left or right. It has done this ever since it was new ... the importer was going to get me a new valve body but after many many calls I gave up. Everything else works great with plenty of power.
I have looked at the valve body and the orings and spool all look good.
Does the this spool have built in relief/by pass valves?

No the swing spool does not it's own relief. I would guess yours like mine swings side to side pretty fast when in the air and under no load? If so I believe what you are experiencing is probably perfectly normal because you say it has good power everywhere else. The swing cylinders are the smallest diameter on the BH, and therfore deliver the least force. The two cylinders also only work in push, so only one cylinder is ever doing any work to swing the boom(left cyl swings boom to right, right cyl swings boom back to left). The lever arm formed between the boom pivot and where the cyl pushrods are attached is also not very long, so the swing cylinder doing the pushing has little mechanical advantage.

Crossover lines to allow both cylinders to work together or one large swing cyl would probably have been better IMO, but there are other design considerations and comprimises to think about.

If your trying to push dirt sideways with it, forget it.

Will it move itself side to side with a bucket full ?

Does it have a swing speed limiter valve ?

The spool has 2 balls and 2 springs inside the spool ...I was thinking that these were relief valves but maybe they are one way return valves?

I would of thought that it would have a little power side to side having used other hoes, but seems when it hits the sightest resistance it stops.

Speed is much slower with a full bucket

My search for pics of your BH controls don't show a valve in the area that mine is located on my bradco (low and between my knees).

Wonder if they stuck it inline or if you even have one.

These might be flow controls open in one direction (ball not against the seat) and closed in the other fluid flows to a small orifice or needle valve to slow the flow down.

That sounds like flow control. Mine dosn't have those...

I have a JM254 with the same hoe. It will push a 200lb rock on concrete but the same rock in sand, not happening. I find for loose material it will push the equivalent to one bucket of material, but no more. I think its normal, the joints on any hoe are not meant for side force. Lots of the larger machines will push more but they will suffer later with loose sloppy joints.

Is there a way to get more side to side power? Mine won't push what came out of the bucket.

I used to have a LW-6 (same animal) and the side to side push was almost non existent. After cleaning and tinkering and adjusting the best I could ever get was pathetic side push, and that is mainly because the swing cylinders are not double acting. The LiTW 7600 I now have will push a mountain to the side (kinda).
