your take on this diesel additive test?

I wish they would have tested a sample of diesel straight from the pump since all diesel manufacturers puts additives in the ULSD before they deliver to the station, I would like to see how this compares to the untreated diesel that none of us can get anyway.

I agree with you.. The first time I just skimmed thru the article and didnt see that the base fuel was untreated.. It would be nice to have a lubricated base line fuel (although I wonder how much variance there is by refinery though)..

heck, for years in the Northeast i did ZERO in my Powerchoke and did not have issues...In my Bx22.Bx24 I am not using anything but MMO for lub issues with low sulfer fuel....done.

#2 off road = #2 on road( + color)

My distributor confirmed that for me. They ran short of off road #2 last fall and told me that they filled out "reams" of paperwork that allowed them to purchase the appropriate dye and make "off-road" diesel from their on road. By the sound of it, there was a lot of red tape to go through for them but they were looking at losing the sale of several thousands of gallons of #2 off road each day.

This distributor is also the one who convinced me about 2 or 3 years ago to use their biodiesel blend. It was less expensive and they swore it would not only not hurt my equipment, but would be better. It looks like they told me right based on the studies I've recently read.

My distributor's off road diesel is not ULSD but his on road is ULSD. In a year or so that will no longer be true.

Why do people have such faith in STUDIES? Some people have done studies of their own.
Is BioDiesel and additive?

I know people who are running straight biodiesel B100 in their cars. It cost about the same as #2 diesel, I'm using it as a lube additive. I mix it at 1 quart B100 to 15 gal diesel. It cost less than a buck a quart.
