Over the road??

I road marched a combine from Bowling Green Kentucky to my place back in 1982. Trip took 12 hours. I lost count of car horns and flying fingers by the time I made it out of Barren County

We run ours about 65/70 miles one way every month. Moving it to another contract to mow its faster that chaining it down and hauling it.Its takes about 2 1/2 hours road running. My friend doing the same type moves his 100 miles one way about 4 hours travel.

"What I worry about most is the high speed traffic we sometimes encounter on our little roads....:eek"

Your a braver than I traveling certain section of that road.

Six miles today, but 10 is the most, with either tractor. My tractor is over at a friends waiting on us to figure out how to dig a ditch. Seems a trencher or a small turning plow aren't the options needed.

Ive driven a JohnDeere 2210 about 4 miles through town to my uncles to till his garden. Luckly the shoulder is wide enough that I dont have to hold up traffic.

I used to take the JD 790 about five miles to mow another one of our properties. The route takes me down a major four lane highway, but I thought I would be okay as there was a nice, wide paved shoulder. I
missed one small detail: The shoulder has a rumble strip the entire route.
The rear tire is centeredf on the strip in ordfer to stay off the road. At the end of the trip, you're about half goofy from riding on that rumble strip with tractor tires.
I finally convinced the powers that be that a good trailer was needed, they agreed and my rumble-stip rumblings are over.

You could commute on the freeway with one of these at 60 mph.
