Little BX Bucket Brush Forks

Took me a while to get my bearings...definitely a BX2230...but with curved arms on the loader? Then I saw...Woods. They make some great stuff, don't they? Looks like a great loader with one HECK of an attachment. Great work!

I was wondering if you fabricated the attachment points that you have on the top of the bucket or if you bought them?
I've come across all kinds of projects to get started on reading the forums. Thanks for the great idea.

gtrippleb, I made the brackets from 2"X2"x1/4" angle. I trimmed the back side of the angle down so they did not look to big on the bucket.

Did you cut one side and then bend it to form to the bucket and then fill in the space that was formed by cutting the side? Now that I look at it more closely, you probably have the pleasure of using a torch to heat up the metal to bend it which I don't have. You wouldn't happen to have a close up of the bracket would you?
Now I just need to put my welder together as I have all kinds of steel laying around for projects.
Thanks

All,
Maybe this is the thread that will save my soul. I'm trying to get some intel on a 3-pt pallet fork (various makes and models, etc). I love you all's front mounted system but I want the 3-pt version for my sub compact tractor. Any ideas/suggestions to steer me in the right direction is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

gtrippleb, I sold my torch set years ago, I do all my fab work cutting with a 4-1/2" grinder with a cut off wheel or the abrasive chop saw. I cut the angle iron to the degree I needed, beveled them and welded the pieces together, then I cut the taper on them. I used a protractor head on my square and the bucket was 130 degrees where I wanted the brackets to go so I cut 25 degrees from the square edge of each angle and they fit perfectly. As long as you cut the same angle on each piece they will fit together with no over hang when putting any pieces of the same size material together. I enlarged a couple of pictures before the brackets were painted, I hope this helps. One other tip I use, is to bolt any brackets or tabs together with flat washers as a spacer to hold the exact distance apart and hold them square, for welding.

MT, I would have to agree with Radioman. Alot of people use the carryall for rear forks some are rated at 1000 lbs. and they are not that expensive. I needed to lift some big logs to split and I made a small fork thing to fit in the rear hitch. With 100 lbs. on the front end the front tires would bearly steer the tractor.

Scott,
Thanks for the pictures. I would have done the same thing as in cutting the two pieces and then welding them back together. I've done that on a rack I made for my pickup. I sure do appreciate the pictures as I'd also like to put a grapple on my little sc2400. That's all I use is a chop saw and a 4-1/2" grinder to do my building. I never thought about using washers to keep the pieces the correct distance apart. I'll have to remember that when I build mine.
Thanks, Greg
