G1800/G1900/G2000 Snowblower, and front PTO kit

Looking at the following page:
Kubota Tractor Corporation - Prior Tractor Models

I see that there is a "PTO kit (front)", G2592, and a "PTO Kit (rear)", G2591. Is the front PTO kit required for a snowblower?

I'd to add a snowblower to my G1800, but it may be cost prohibitive if I have to buy a lot of other things (maybe I should look for another G1800 or G1900 being sold with a snowblower).

Can someone answer the above question. I am in the same boat (looking for a TG2742 snowblower or a G2001 blade for my G1900 kubota.

I may just buy a Johnny Bucket and plow as my local dealer wants $1650 for the snowblower with all mounting stuff (I am assuming the dealer was refering to the front PTO).

The front pto kit(which I have) is necessary with the front sweeper(which I have) and the front snowblower(which I don't). The front sweeper and blower both require a quick hitch frame kit(which I have) to fasten them to the tractor frame. The quick hitch attaches to the hydraulic mmm lift so you can raise and lower the front blower or sweeper about 5 inches. I don't have the rear pto. The mmm must be removed from the tractor to install the quick hitch frame. Attaching a drive shaft to the front pto is very difficult as there is little room for your hands. I find this much more difficult than attaching the mmm shaft to the mid pto.

I have a G1800 with both a front snowblower and a mid-mount deck. I don't use the deck much simply because my property has too many obstruction so I leave the frame on all year round. Installing the front PTO shaft is a bit tight to get at but not hard to do. The hardest is getting the PTO shaft on because it will only go on in one position because of the splines. Still, it's never taken me more than one or two minutes to get the shaft on. Make very sure the shaft is fully seated and the lock snaps all the way to the rear. Like any PTO, tug hard after it's installed to make sure it's locked in. I also fully disassemble the PTO shaft (except for the universal joints which I grease) every spring, clean it and apply lots of grease everywhere else.

Sorry I can't help with where to get the blower. Mine is 25 years old and, with all the salt around here, rusted out. I tried finding a replacement blower but finally had to have a local shop virtually rebuilt the blower body. I also learned to rest the lowered blower on a 2 x 4 so the bottom of the blower doesn't sit on a wet and salty garage floor.

Lakeside, do you have pictures of your snowblower attached? Looking to see how it is attached under the seat, floor boards. You have the owners manual fir the snowblower?
