A decent fuel can?

   / A decent fuel can? #21
i got tired of the mandated cans and bought a $47 dollar metal yellow can from the local hardware store. It has a spring loaded cap connected to a handle. under the handle is a large funnel. I lift it up, pull open the lid and the fuel flows quickly without a drop into my tractor. I would do it again in a hearbeat. Best 47 i spent in a long time.
I think it is an EAGLE safety can.

I like the looks of the Blitz "Fuel Staion" in the Northern Tool catalog. Holds 15 gallons, great for small tractors I guess... Problem is..., getting it higher than your fuel fill. Would be sweet if you could pressurize it..!!

Blitz 15-Gallon Professional Fuel Station™, Model# 11055 | Gas + Oil Cans | Northern Tool + Equipment

I'd be tempted to put a tubless tire air fitting in the cap, if it would be possible. Depends on how full 15 gallons fills it. Leave some air space, and shoot 10 to 15 psi in it, and see if it would empty it... But that's me... LOL..

Still have a 280 gallon bulk tank on the farm. Costs a nickle more to have it delivered than current price at the station, but worth it to me... Just use cans here, and the gas station is only 3/4 of a mile away...

Bought one of those new Blitz 5 gallon cans at TSC... Heck..., I was 20 minutes getting the nozzle out of the can...!! 10 minutes at the station..., 10 minutes here at home. Probably gave someone a good laugh, if they were watching...

Too bad Blitz doesn't make something similar to their smaller cans that have the instant pushbutton shutoff, like for chainsaws, etc.. I love those..!!

1*They are to much money for to few features .
You can build a much nicer out fit for at or about the same or less money .

You could go to Canada and get a simple no stupid design can there and bring it to the states. I got one last winter there at Walmart no less. Made in the USA. lol

The California Air Resources Board or C.A.R.B. for short is the brain child behind this brilliant idea. These cans were not implemented do to fuel spillage but to eliminate a gas can venting into the atmosphere. That is the reason that there is no vent on the new can. When the spout is in the closed position all of the harmful vapors are kept within the can.

I am very glad that I got word of this change in advance and was able to stock up on the old style cans. I think I went out and bought 6 or 8 of the old ones.

Is that why mine baloon up like they will explode? Couldnt believe it how big it got outside. Will it contain all the vapors or self vent ?Aorund her event he station tanks have high pipes venting the tanks.
Where dot the vapors go?

My new Blitz can upset in the bed of the truck, because it puffed up, after a 20 mile ride full of gas, on a 90コ day. Had it setting between two other regular plastic cans, and like it walked itself from between them, then upset... The other two hadn't moved, other than maybe when the Blitz can swelled, and pushed them sideways.

That being said. Is there any less vapors entering the atmosphere when you relieve the pressure..?? Reckon' I'll just use it for short fuel hauls, and keep it in the coolest part of the barn.

interesting so they do swell for other people glad it didn't spill.great question about the vapors when its opened.Guess that would mean that they settle back intot he fuel?

*This will work till the gas station attendants start refusing to fill the unapproved cans.
