why so hard to get a quote?

I could think of better places/ways to blow 60 thousand bucks.

Like 5 more Kubotas??

Why would you say that?? You ever freeze you behind off blowing snow during a blizzard?? or how about a windstorm during winter with windchill getting well below -50C/-58F? I wish we could have afforded the extra to get a cab when we bought ours, maybe next time, we will.

Oh, BTW, a 5445 is NOT a compact tractor.

I can't. With today's market conditions, I see the tractor as a worthwhile investment. It will save me money by helping me do the work that needs to be done, probably make me a bit of money in doing work for other people, and in the end the machine will still provide a decent resale value. I know of no other piece of machinery that can do that. :)

I agree. Did you also get a mid-mount mower??

No. Reasons being:
  1. only a 1/4 acre of grass,
  2. the grade of the hill, slope ranges from 3:1 to 5:1 so cab on the tractor makes it top heavy for driving across the slope, the slop is too short to run up and down.
  3. for the price of a mmm I could pick up a ride-on mower

I thought of getting mmm for the quad but same reasoning, the cost is same as a ride-on.

Although with the MMM I could keep the weed trees down on the old road that circumnavigates the property. See? Talk about something long enough and you'll find a reason to buy it. :D

I'll sell you Kodiak 400...once the tractor arrives. :) Its a real workhorse. 4 yrs old and its only got 165km on it. Mostly from plowing the driveway. :)
