batteries

DieHard Gold batteries have always worked best for me for what ever I could fit them in to. They are worth the money and then some.

I like the top of the line batteries at Walmart with the 3 year replacement guarantee. If it only last 35 months they give you a new battery with 3 more years guarantee. So if they keep going bad every 35 months or less you have free batteries for life.

hadnt realized that its a long warranty..

I had a heck of an argument with a Walmart Manager in Fort McMurray, Alberta Canada over what constituted free replacement. I had a battery go bad after 13 month on a 3 year free replacement and they wanted to charge me for the 13 months use. After a lot of rather harsh loud word exchange and threathening to call their district manager, I got another battery for free but they punched the warranty card that it was 13 months old so I only got the remainder of the original free replacement. I dont think they ever got the point of what the "FREE" meant, but I was ready to go to the sports section and buy a baseball bat to help persuade them before they agreed to give me another battery. Claimed it was store policy so who knows how many folks they had ripped off on that. FT. McMurray is at the end of the world so to speak as the road ends there and it is 500 km back to Edmonton so you are kind of trapped there and the businesses know it. They have no idea the meaning of customer service.

Anyone ever try using a Marine battery in their tractor. THey are also built to take a beating in a boat and they have special caps that dont leak battery acid.

I try to buy the best I can (longest warranty means they built them better, IMO). I've had good results.

Good technology. I thought about getting on for my trolling motor on my boat till I saw the price and decided that it likely wouldnt outlast 3 regular deepcycle marine batteries which I could buy for the same money

I think that is correct. You should get a new battery, but you would only have whats left of the warranty on the first battery.

For the best price and failure replacement, I go too go with Wally World. I put two of their largest deep cycle marine batteries in a Case with a 504 and could not believe how fast it turned over.

For zero maintenance and longevity or certain applications like a Dodge Cummins where vibration can crack a battery case, go with Optima's. Non better IMHO.
