Has anyone had any trouble with the 3 point hitch not working? Yesterday I took the backhoe off the tractor for the first time. I was hoping to use a landscape rake but the 3 point hitch will not raise. The tractor is an '06 with ~230 hours, hydrostat transmission. The PTO, Transmission, Bucket and Backhoe all seem to work ok. Any thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Check the control knob for determining how fast the hitch goes down, if it's open all the way, you may find the hitch won't come up.

I'm not sure how you are powering the bh, but if you have the valve under the tractor that you have to reach under and turn with a wrench, then that is why the 3pt isn't working if you didn't turn it "all" the opposite way. Also, you'll be deadheading the flow without turning the valve and running the tractor. If you have the remote valves with levers, forget what I mentioned.

Even if you have the remote valve lever you will still need to make sure it is in the neutral position.

The speed knob only affects the fall, not the rise of the 3PH. So it should raise even if that knob is all the way closed (assuming it's not all the way up already). But, it sounds like you have a backhoe hydraulic diverter line set wrong somewhere. I wouldn't run it very long until you find what it is.

Thank you all, there was no problem, just lack of experience! With your advice, I located and adjusted the valve and the hitch raises and lowers correctly. Thank you all who posted, it is greatly appreciated.

I too have a Kioti CK30 with a back-hoe attatched, and the other day i tried the lever for the 3 point and nothing happens. Where is this diverter valve located that you have been referring to? I would like to make sure the arms work even though i'm not using it right now. Thanks!

The valve is on the right side of the gear (gray) case just about even with the front edge of the rear right tire. It's up a little high on the side and a little pita to get to. You'll see the two rubber hoses from the QDs, that your bh uses, connected to the valve. If the bh is still attached and you turn the valve to check the 3pt, be careful that the 3pt arms don't catch a part of the bh frame. As mentioned before, if you take the bh off, make sure to turn the valve completely to get full power to the 3pt and not dead head the fluid.
