2003 Kubota L2600DT, F13D Yanmar, Sears garden tractor with MMM, older JD Garden Tractor with MMM, Gravely commercial ZTM
Just bought a new KK II 48" tiller. Purchased it from an individual who bought it six months ago but has never even attached it to his tractor. After he bought it, he was afraid his yard (solid rock) would either mess up the tiller or his tractor, so he never used it.

Our kind of guy, three modest vehicles and a $25,000 John Deere compact w/FEL parked in his garage. Multiple attachments, quick connect, most not used yet, but he's ready.

Got the tiller at about two-thirds of the cost of one at local TCS. When it quits raining, I'm going to try it. Can't wait!!

Sounds like a great deal for you assuming you paid a used price.

Check the oil levels. They ship dry from the factory.

Thanks for the feed-back. With respect to price, TSC in my area is $1,599 for the 4', and $1,699 for the 5'. I paid $1,100 and no tax. The cheapest I've seen them is at Roseell's Farm Supply (I may have that name wrong or mis-spelled) for about what I paid, but I would have shipping (they also have great prices on Woods backhoe's). I've also checked fluids, he has everything topped-off.

As mentioned, although pre-owned, it has never been hook-up or run, so I'm very pleased with the deal. You know how it is, you get interested in something, do your research on product and prices for new and used, and you know when you have a good/fair deal. In my area, even highly used units are priced at $850 to $1,000. I've been looking for several months, and just had a hard time justifying the price of new ones.

I tried getting by with the walk behind TroyBilt Super Bronco that I purchased a few months ago. But I have so much hard clay compacted soil that the tiller lived up to its name. It hopped and bronco'd all over the place and absolutely wore me out. It would simply "launch" when I tried to be too aggressive on tilling depth. So the three point should help significantly in breaking up the previously untouched hard clay soil and save me a bunch of time, and save my back.

LB, I guess it shows how much mark-up TSC has. I have noticed they seem to have gone up in price this year for some reason. I've read several posts from last year where individuals got one for about what you paid. Did you get yours recently?

So what was TCS price on yours and what did you get it for.
I got mine 10 / 2007.
In a package deal on 2 tractors and several attactments from a dealer.
I did not get the tiller at TSC.

LB, read my post just before your post yesterday for pricing info. I see your a big BX fan, and that is probably what I should of purchased.

I bought a slightly used (203 hrs) 2003 Kubota L2600DT with a Bush Hog M 246 loader. It's a great tractor, but a little large for my 1.5acs. My wife and I are primarily just making flower beds and improving the yard, and the tiller purchase is for putting in flower beds and a small garden. I really use my little Yanmar more than the Kubota.

Since being a member of this site and continuing to read the praises of the BX's, I really like the complete package with turf tires, FEL and backhoe. A backhoe would help me out alot in what I'm doing. I bet once you get used to having it, it's hard to imagine how you ever did without one.

What size property are you using your tractors on?
