My new buddy

My wife decided she wanted to get a dog. Haven't had a dog in a long time so I told her to go ahead. She decided to go with a rescue dog. I said that was fine, but told her I did not want a yappy dog. I wanted one with a real bark. I think she did pretty well. He is 3 and a half months in the picture and we have had him about a month. He has an awesome coon dog bark and loves to ride with me in the truck. He also seems to do well with my 8 year old son. He's got some feet to grow into. I think he will be a good dog. I just don't understand how a pup like this ends up homeless.

He was homeless because his seven brothers and sisters used up all the owner's acquaintances.

He sure looks like he is happy and probably grateful to have a warm safe home with people that care.
When I adopted my last dog ( black lab) he was an abandonded stray from the local humane society. He was around 9 /10 then and is 11 /12 now. I knew that I wouldn't have alot of years with him, but just knew that they would be quality years. I made the right chioce, and was blessed with an awesome friend & companion.
You did a Great thing. Rescueing and adopting is "in my opinion" the only way to do it.
He is a good looking boy, congratulations and Enjoy him.

Great looking dog! I'm sure he'll be a great companion. We are on our fifth dog in 36 years of marriage and all have been rescue dogs, one which I literally rescued in the woods. All have been great pets and companions.

The other day we took our sons German Short haired pointer with us to look at a new car. Greatest thing we ever did, told the sales manager that he was a freindly dog and not to worry about him. We even offered to take him out of the car so he could check out the inside and even take our trade-in for a test ride.

All he said was "no problem we trust you and your wife and there is no need to drive your car". So he didn't drive the car and ended up increasing our trade-in value by another $1,000. Sure he made it up on the other end, being the selling price of the car we bought.

I don't mind a small dog bark, I live next to 3 beagles, and for the life of me wonder why people like to hear all 3 baying at the same time...
