Snow Snow removal with a BX 25

Wow, what a good discussion. Thanks to all.

We recently moved up here to Beaver Creek, northern Michigan, and I bought the BX Kubota for two purposes. Gardening, my passion, and snow pushing, my duty. :(

No way I could swing a blower attachment, front or rear. Taking possession of new property does that to a guy. Perhaps in the future. For now, I will be trying the front blade. Yes, it is the hydraulic, full control model. I will know better how my decision works out in a few months. BTW, I have a wide areas along side my long, gravel drive, so I will be taking my salesman's advice and start out pushing it far, far away, so as not to get penned in later.

Makes sense to me.;)

For about 500 bucks, I bought a 60" wide snow plow for my ATV up at the cottage, which worked out just great. With my Can-Am Outlander MAX 650, the plow moves the snow VERY fast, and my BX25 FEL takes care of any piles I can't get to. Then, when the furrows start to build up and narrow the driveway, I use the FEL to push them back.

The only problem is, the FEL is quite small and doesn't carry much snow, so for an early Christmas present this year, I am getting a bucket expander from BXpanded.com, which apparently doubles the heaped capacity of the FEL (and presumably cuts my snow moving time in half).

OK, here it is September of the next year, and I didn't get my bucket expander for Christmas, or for my birthday, but I am getting it for... OK, Thanksgiving! It's already ordered and should arrive in a week or so.

Has anyone else used the BXpanded.com bucket expander for snow, and if so, how did it work out?

BX2660 thats the exact same way I do it less a cab. Will not fit in the garage with a cab so I'll suck it up.

Here's the best setup for myself!!!

YouTube - Kubota BX2660 SnowBlower
Nice... very nice BX2660. But expensive! My local (Toronto) Kubota dealer quotes me $4160 for a 55" front blower (including quick hitch and Mid PTO - ouch! A 51" rear blower, however, would be only $1663 (All prices in $ Canadian, which is about 95 cents U.S. right now.) So, it's the ATV plow and the FEL-with-bucket expander for me this winter. (BTW, my ATV plow would have cleared your driveway even faster than you did in your YouTube posting, although I would of course have the furrows to deal with after.)

I might also check with a dealer in Upstate New York to see how much their rear blowers are - if it was substantially cheaper, it wouldn't be the first time I saw big price differences South of the border.

you might want to check with tudor and jones in weedsport ny to see how much a 54 inch Pronovost Puma would cost you IMO with no waiting to buy a kubota(RAD) blower.
