Hello all,
I'm working on a snow plow project on y JD2520 and want to use a 12VDC solenoid cartridge valve to control the single acting lift cylinder. What kind of valve (i.e. 3-way/2-position, 4-way/3-position, etc.) valve should I use. In addition to this valve, I'd like to add another valve to control the (2) single-acting angle cylinders. Also, although I already have the JD power beyond kit installed on my tractor to power my backhoe, can I tap into the block that bolted between the transmission and the SCV for my "pressure" and "return" lines? Just wondering if anyone has any insight as to how to make this hydraulic project work properly?

Thanks
Ryan

And yes, i could use my SCV to control the movement of the plow, but I'd like to use a handheld controller to control the solenoid valve.

I will have to get back to you with valve recommendations..at work now. But these valves are bigger than you think...where do you think you are going to mount them?

I do think it's kind of crazy that you want to spend probably $500 and go through a LOT of work when your the valve already installed on your machine will work perfectly. I guess I don't see the advantage of a handheld controller when the joystick is right there and so easy to use.

There is not much room there...and no additional ports-so you will use the hoses to run to the new valve(s).

I figured it would be a lot of money. I will probably end-up using the SCV anyway. I was just curious if my idea would actually work. BTW, if you have the bucket in the air and move the SCV valve to the "float" position, is there a way to adjust how fast/slow the bucket lowers to the ground?

Whatever the fittings and hose size will allow. You can slow it down further with resistricters

Your idea would work, but it just is not practical considering the required real estate it would occupy and the amount of money it would cost. The DSCV on your tractor is designed to operate loaders and plows...use it since you already bought it:D

There is a small orifice installed (part #6) in the line that lets the fluid out of the lift cylinders-it controls the lower rate.
