Those of you that have a 3400, where does your engine temperature gauge normally read after the engine is warmed up? Mine has a small tick mark just above the cold end of the scale, and the needle climbs to barely past that mark. Is this normal?

Thanks

Yup, that's what mine does, until the screen in front of the radiator starts clogging up.

Mine too. And how about the fuel guage? 9 gallon tank, and when the guage reads almost "e" , I can usually fill the tank with a 5 gallon can. Talk about a "reserve"!

My L2800 temp gauge reads the same. Just above that dot when warm. The fuel gauge is also as Adiredneck reports. David.............

Nice to know mine isn't the only one, I was starting to wonder if I had a stuck thermostat. I'm used to seeing temperature gauges read mid-scale under normal conditions.

That's my kind of fuel tank !! I occasionally try to squeeze a few more hours running out of a tank that thinks it's getting low. Sometimes it works, sometimes you end up walking out to get fuel...

Ditto with L2800... and been there with the radiator screen clogging up, the needle will peg and steam will blow...

Not sure why they even have a 9 gallon tank if you have to guess after 5 gallons.

I've bled more than a few fuel systems after they've been run dry, a pessimistic fuel gauge is a godsend. The sooner we think it's empty, the sooner we refill it, and we're pleasantly surprised at the "great fuel economy" we're getting too !

Same temp reading on my L3400. I usually fill the fuel tank at about 1/4.

How many gallons do you fill when it reads 1/4???

Sounds exactly like mine on the temp gauge. When the fuel reads at 1/2, it takes a tad less than 5 gallons.
