Looks awesome. I have a few hundred questions about core aerating. I have a land pride CA 2560 and haven't used it yet. I only have about 2.5 or so acres of lawn to do for myself.

First couple questions:

1. When is a good time? As you see I live in CT, should I have done it or be doing it?
2. What do you do with the cores?

Thanks for your input, looks great.

It helps to do it when the soil is moist, easier to core.

Also is helpful to get new seed germinated if you core right before. I see the most seed germination occurring in the hole where seeds have fallen, and around plugs laying on top of the ground.

Would seem liming and fertilizing would be more effective if done right after coring as you get more in 'the hole' and not washing off if you had significant rain after liming/fertilizing.

Spring and fall are the best. ample soil moisture and proper weight for maximum penetration will get you down into the topsoil to pull quality plugs. Post aeration is a great time to follow up with overseeding, fertilizing, lime, etc.

I know what you mean , when I am bush hogging my property I see the hawks and the deer as well...be careful they will find out how they could buy their own equipment and enjoy the same thing and not hire you anymore..just a thought.

This is a residential property and he cuts the lawn himself with a 60 hp (kubota diesel) toro groundsmaster.
