What brings you to town?

I would say i would meet you and buy you a beer but I am booked for Monday.
Business. As you may or may not know I am a Corporate Pilot and I am flying in some of our people for a meeting. We are landing around 1:45 and planning on departing around 4:45 to Saginaw Michigan where we will overnight.

This week has me very busy with 5 stops on Monday taking me as far east as New York. Tuesday I am off to Wooster Mass, New York, Philly, Cleveland, then Home. Wednesday I am off to Fresno Cali where I will overnight. Thursday off to Seattle to overnight again. Then Friday returning home.

Sounds like a crazy schedule.

Let me know the next time you are in the area. This is just a crazy time of year for us.

Its not as bad as it sounds. Last week I only worked Monday. Just went to Providence and back. I average 12 days a month over the course of a year with about 4-5 nights a month overnighting. Gives me plenty of time with the family and to do my side business. Oh yea, and to play with the tractors.

I really like 4 shorts set-up too. I like the shortening of the plow frame and I don't want to take anything away from his work except one little thing: I don't like the rams under the mounting plate. They look really close to the ground and succeptable to damage.

I know I'm going to get whupped-up on for suggesting that, and his is a better set up than mine, but I wouldn't feel secure about the rams being that close to the hardtop and I like having my QA plate free for other uses.

Might be able to cure this with skid shoes on the back.

Flame suit zipped, Kevlar vest on and high top steel toe boots with metataursal protectors tied. :D

Builder my friend you made a good point on the rams but there better off under the frame than on top of it. I've had lumps of hard snow come over the top of the blade that would have taken those rams out if they were on the top of the blade frame. Have a look at the first picture. Yep, rear skids ;) Last winter I also added side Super Nova LED strobe lights to the system so when I'm backed into a driveway and my blade is out in the road vehicles can see the blade much easier. It's nice to see some of you like my design :D It might not be the design that fits everyones needs but it sure works for me.

Oh and as for the relif valve. I've got 13 years with that plow on the front of a 1993 GMC truck and one year with it on the front of the Kubota and when I've hit something side on it worked the exact same way which makes me that the hyd's on the tractor has something there to make the pressure by-pass if It needs to. I can only report on how it worked for me last winter and I'm more than pleased with the set up.

Where are you getting them for $50? Best I have seen is around $85 one Ebay. I have to replace both of them on a plow I picked up on CL for $80.

Chris

I paid $80. each up here in Newfoundland last winter. Keep an eye on the bolt holes when buying them. I've seen them with differant sizes and you might not notice it until you go to install them.

4 shorts,
The strobes are a great idea. The worst part of plowing my drive is at the road. It's a blind drive and drive itself is lined with trees so hanging the blade out there is always a concern. Very nice work, as usual.

That was the exact concern I had so I went with those lights and built the boxes for them. I can to you that they sure do get a lot of attention now. I used to have a video up on YouTube of them in operation I may put it up again. I appreciate your kind words sir. Thanks
