Builder, the frame is steel tubing and not what I would consider heavy duty. Since I stay away from spreading salt it has little rust though.

Gotcha.

Seems like one of these companies could make money selling a hooper that's corrosion resistant on the hopper, agitator and the frame.

Powder coated steel seems to last about 1-2 years with salt dust on it.

My old hydraulic Air flo spreaders in my 6 & 10 wheeler dump trucks would rust out in just a few years when we were salting corporate center lots.

hello no good wount work i bought one worked about 2 seasons then rotted and i did wash after season also spreader weel wont turn to make sand go down i had to modifie to work this site hase a salt sand spreader for 3ph. herd seeder co.inc

A little power washing and Fluid Film goes along way.

One option for dealing with equipment exposed to salt is an anti-salt solution like Salt-X
$12.95 a gallon...use 2 ounces per gallon of water...
