I didn't see the snow blower in any of the pics.

The blower is behind schedule in delivery. Plus I am having them modify it to to put an actuator (hyd or elec) to control the top part of the chute. The chute rotates on hydraulics already. The engineers didn't think it through. If a person is gonna shell out that sort of money for one, might as well put another $150 into it for full hydraulic controls.

Real nice tractor, I been looking at the 1643 my self and got quotes. But up to this point I couldn't find anyone who owned one. Whats your thoughts now that you've had it it for awhile. I also have a question about the snower blower size the brochure show the 1643is compatable with the 1410 66" snow blower, did the dealer say the tractor could handle it. Typically we get snow storms that can dump 1 to 2 feet some times. In your research for the tractor did you get your information to make you decision. I realize that the 1600's just hit the market in april-may. I could wear you eyes out asking questions but i won't.
Thanks and congrats on the new tractor.

Hi Peanie,

Ask away, if I don't know the answer, well, then I don't know the answer.

I've only had the tractor for 2 days, drove it only once so far. I still have to figure out the relationship between topography, chosen speed and rpm used. After driving into some ruts and tipping the tractor, I quickly learn a driver has to take their time.
I don't have the blower yet. I had considered the 1410 but that just makes the width of the tractor so I wnet for the 1507 (72" cut). All my other attachements (loader bucket and rear blade) are 72". I also had the dealer set the rear tires to the widest possible setup. The front mount blowers run on the mid-PTO and the engine on the 1643 is a 4cyl turbo, so there's no problem for power. We get similar storms. This will be the first year that I am praying for snow...bring it on! :) My information was to do a bit of reading, settle on a brand I trusted, talked with local farmers, preferred a tractor that was more metal than plastic, and spent the most I could afford. The dealer sold Kioti as well and I originally tried it out but once I sat in the cab of the 1643, I was sold without even starting the key.

Jim,
In one of you pictures (thrid for the left top row) toward the rear there is a T handle what is the function of that? The snow blower did you get the hydraulic rotator and the electric diverter control? So your thought as to going wider on the bucket and setting tires wider is stability, good Idea. The dealer I'm talking with suggested a extra wide R4 tire it's about 6" wider than a normal r4 tire. Now you given me more to think about. I haven't driven it yet. He didn't have one on the lot. I did sit in a 1635and that was very impressed. I plan on purchasing one in mid november this year. DL20 backhoe,1520 loader, and was quoted a 1410 front snow blower.

I believe that's setup for the snowblower chute rotation.

The blower comes with the hyd rotator. The control for the diverter is optional. I'm trying to get it to be hyd as well. The less electrics exposed to the elements, the better.

Yeah, play with the rim setups, you can get away with quite a range of widths. There's not much difference between the 1635 and 1643 with exception of the motor.

Are you sure it got a turbo? The brochure says a naturally asperated engine, so I assumed it was without a turbo. All the other makes I looked at didn't have turbos.
I could be wrong. That would be sweet if it did.

That's what I was told at the time of making the purchase. The dealer may have mis-spoken. I'll double check.

It's possible that the unit does have a turbo as it is going to Canada. I'm not sure but the emissions requirements may be different in Canada and a Turbo may be required to meet Canadian regulations. I know that some Kubota tractors incorporated turbos so that they could meet California emissions requirements. I have also been looking at the 1643, 1648 and 1652 cab tractors and according to the brochure as well as the dealers that I have spoken with, none of those tractors have a turbo on them here. It was actually something that the dealer pointed out when I noted that I was also looking at John Deere tractors. He pointed out that the MF's did not have turbos like the JD's which are more costly to repair of replace. I'm also curious about this tractor and whether or not it id turbo charged. I'm also paying close attention to this thread as this is one of the tractors I am strongly considering myself.
