I have a Snapper 22HP rider with a power-vac attachment on the 50" mowing deck. It attaches to a 3-bag grass catcher, that I usually use for picking up leaves. The "power vac" consists of a rotating blade that munches the leaves and then tosses them (pretty forcefully) into the bagger. It is attached to the PTO pulleys via a belt.

The setup works absolutely great, except I'd like more storage for the leaves so it'd require less stops for unloading. I was thinking of a leave cart or a cyclone type thing, without the motor. Just a big square bag that sits in a trailer. The cart (that is on casters) from Simplicity/Snapper is avail with no motor, but is still pricey, at around $800. It is firmly attached to the tractor so there is no side to side motion, just up & down. This makes it very easy to backup without jackknifing.

Anyone have any ideas or if these bags can be ordered separately?

Have you looked at ebay or craigslist? If you're a brave man, those might pay off for you.

How handy are you? A cheap little cart like you can get from Lowe's covered with a breathable tarp (like an old trampoline) will work just as well for a fraction of the cost. Add some ribbed tubing to the end of your chute and exhaust it into the trailer under the tarp. Most of those tow behind garden carts have a dump trip on them too. That would really simplify things.

If you make one yourself out of a dump cart, etc., just remember you'll need a way to exhaust the air that your power vac will be pumping into the covered cart. Maybe you can find a used trac vac or cyclone rake and sell off the engine. May cost less than $800 just for a cart. I know on the cyclone rakes, the engine is removable and has it's own frame with castors, so easily to just take it off.

Anyone know where I can get a square "bag" thats breathable? Something that'll roughly fit in a towing cart. Maybe 3' W X 4'L X 3' Hi. (36 sq ft)

I have a used cyclone rake bag of about those dimensions. It has an exhaust screen on top. The bag itself isn't breathable. I decided to go up one size bag, from 200 gal to 285 gal. The new bag fit right on my existing trailer. I use it for 4 years, but it's in good condition. PM me if you're interested.
