can you get a performance chip for your tractor?

i just like to tinker with everything and like to get as much power out of stuff as i can if its a motorcycle lawn mower tractor whatever. is there a chip on the market for a 06 kubota L2800 as i have a 1/4 kh driveway i wanna be able to blow snow just a little faster if i could. thanks!

Not sure if your tractor is computer controlled or not.. but forget that electronic crap... Just go to your nearest car performance shop and add nitrous oxide.... lol if it is a diesel tractor, you can also propane inject it....

However, if doing this, you maye want to add wheelie bars and wait til the warrenty expires.. as I don't think this would be covered....

All seriousness tho, google it and there should be some tractor performance mods out there to get you a few more hp and a couple of foot pounds of torque that won't damage the tractor

I don't think the compacts usually have a CPU so I doubt there would be a performance chip available. I have seen several manufacturers for chips advertised in Tractor House but they are for the newer model LARGE (300-400HP) ag tractors. You could always go with a turbo.

Larger deisels are obviously doing this but like most munufacturers electronics have made them more unreliable...You can turbo ."anything" but i'd just give the fuel pump a tweak..

i have been looking at a turbo might go for it but wondering how much it would take to put one on and how much it would cost. and i would go for the propane by just putting a little propane torch [unlite of course] with the end inside the air box and just turning it slightly on but that wouldnt be cheap and would keep costing me a lot!

This brings up two ideas that I have wondered about. I recently read an article about propane injection ( not total conversion from diesel but using it along with diesel fuel) on ag tractors in Farm Show magazine. It appearsto have real benefits in economy, power and diesel fuel consumption but appeared to be only available for large tractors and wasn't cheap to set up. Anyone ever done this on their compact or know much about it?

The other is "turning up" the fuel injector. I have read many times that it is an easy way to get more power but no specifics on how to do it...anyone care to explain the process?

You can massage your fuel pump and swap injectors or nozzles. I'm leaving my tractor stock. Once you start adding power other things start to break
