This plow is being sold near where I live. The owner says it is a Ford IO-156 2bottom plow.
These good plows? Will my Kioti 45HP HST pull this thing ok? I would be using it on a small farm that has been rowcropped yearly for decades.

If you could make the picture a bit bigger it may help to identify it.
Your tractor should have no trouble pulling a two bottom plow. Mine is 35 HP and does just fine.

I agree it is a Ford plow, as I have one just like it. I bought mine for $475 (without the coulters) and pulled it with Kubota M 6800. You would have no problem pulling it. However, I would not buy another, as mine is for sale. It did fine until I hung a hidden rock and this snapped four of the frame bolts and bent a share. I repaired it with new bolts and new shares, and again used it. It plowed soft soil great, until I encountered another buried rock. This time I broke more bolts and bent the diagonal frame member badly. Maybe my tractor is just too heavy and powerful, but I was not going fast and was trying to be careful. I have spent almost $150 dollars on parts (two 17" grade 8 bolts, a dozen shorter bolts, and costs of fabricating a new frame member, and shares) and don't plan to use it again. Maybe in softer soil, it would be fine, but if it were my choice, I would buy a plow with trip protection, either shear pins or springs, to be safe. I since bought and restored another Ford plow (a 3 bottom with shear pins) and it works great, although I frequently trip the bottoms but at least that's a cheap, quick fix. How much is the asking price?

Oh, I realize soil conditions would ultimately determine whether it would hold up, but I broke mine twice in less than 5 hours of use. Be safe, look for another, more modern design with the bottoms protected by trip mechanisms.

I pulled a very similar plow with a Ford NAA (30 HP PTO) so I would think your tractor would handle it fine. My Ford had Ag tires which can make a big difference.

Maybe my tractor is just too heavy and powerful
I think that was your problem. I hit rocks and roots with my Ford and it stalled the tractor rather than breaking the plow.
