Another little project from this past season,

My BH has seen very little use in the past few years, in fact I was gonna start a thread about the "loneliest little Hoe in town"
But anyway I did have a couple of paying jobs for it this year.

Worked great but realized quickly why some guys were doing this mod, as I tore up a customers lawn pretty bad and made alot more work for myself, trying to back fill a long drainage trench dragging the teeth across the grass.

Made this out of some surplus plow blade about 36" long, really did the trick on some test runs. Put a chain hook on at the same time.

JB.

A friend of mine who does excavating for a living has a similar attachment that connects to the backhoe bucket on his large JCB. He called it a "footer plate". It worked really good to make the trench bottoms nice and flat in preparation for the concrete to be poured.

Good idea. Is that a John Deere bike in the back ground!?

Thought someone might notice the green bike :)

No that wasn't planned, I had my mountain bike before the tractor.

Looks good but is it removable?? I have been wanting to build a "tooth blade" for my b/h for a while. It might be a good idea for a winter project.

Yes there are 2 bolts on each side thru the angle iron. wanted to make it go on and off with no tools but couldn't come up with an easy way.

I just use my loader bucket for back filling. I thought that is what everyone did.

The job I was doing where this became an issue was a perfectly manicured lawn and I was trying to minimize damage, keeping the work area to a 6-8 foot strip instead of 20+ feet wide area I would have to restore. Also part of it was between the house and a fence.

You did a nice job, is that some sort of french drain?

Man what I would give to have soil like that, the evil gumbo down here in S.E. Texas is brutal to work with at times..
