Eddie, I can't substantiate it now, but I've heard of the hogs somehow killing young fawns and hurting the deer population. I'll let others chime in. If I can find better information, I'll send it your way. They have pretty much killed the peanut crops in this county. The farmers have resorted pretty much to hay and cattle ranching.

Thanks Kyle. I've thought about building one of those big, walk in traps, but don't really want to deal with them if I caught them. I've heard of people who will come and trap them for free, and some who say they will buy them, but so far, it's more rumors then facts.

Down around Victoria Tx, there was a Hispanic man who would buy them. I think that he sold them to whomever was having a big party and some got turned into tamales.

I've also heard that the Japanese will buy the big boars and its some kind of delicacy to them. Those crazy Japanese. But I don't have any connection to getting them to that market. There are guys who have packs of pit bulls and hunt them in the east Texas forests. Not sure what they end up doing with them.
