My 4720, which was working great last time I used it about a month ago, won't turn over. When I turn the ignition there's a buzzer like sound (not just a click) but engine won't turn over. Could be the battery but all electrical equipment works so obviously it's not dead, however if I push the key to heat up air intake panel goes dim and dies within seconds. Never had that problem before. It's not cold outside but very wet, dunno if that's a factor.

Try putting a charger on it and if you have a fast start setting let it sit for a few minutes and then give it a try...sounds like the battery is just not strong enough to turn over the starter...at least that seems possible.

Charger's in my F150 which wifey took to drive to her mother's for the weekend, MIL lives 3 hours away :(

I would simply wait for her to get back on Sunday but I'm awaiting delivery of a new snowblower and reversible snow bucket this afternoon and will need the tractor to unload these from the flatbed. Hopefully delivery guy will be able to boost me... if battery is indeed the problem.

What? Huh? ANY new blower will be a downgrade from your Shoule...

On Topic...Sounds like your battery has gone to battery heaven.....

Did you check to make sure the PTO is turned off?

Are there any error codes on the dash?

Is it a e-hydro? I think all 4720s are, but i wanted to ask.

Do the headlights work? Are they dim?

D.

Not this one because it is a Shoule ;)

Some of you may recall that last winter I mentioned that the Shoule S72 I was using was a prototype on loan from the distributor due to the final market version not being ready on time. While this blower worked great I did experience a few issues due to the experimental nature of the machine, such as the main screw bearing casings shattering in extreme cold and a somewhat leaking snow chute.

These problems have been fixed on the market version which is now called SI72, and I had one just delivered to me for free in exchange for the prototype. I also traded my extensible snow blade for a more rugged commercial-duty fixed (non-extensible) 72" reversible snow bucket. It's now dark outside so I'll post pics tomorrow.

Yup, you guys were spot on it was the battery. Boost got it going but I guess it's time to replace it now that the machine is nearing the 1000-hour milestone. I am told this is the original battery and it was suggested to me that I replace it with a different unit (sealed) designed for cold-weather duty. Battery placement in this tractor exposes it to road salt.

There's the infamous Error 8 but it's been there since I had the tractor. It has to do with the throttle sensor that feeds the I-Match system but I never use this feature so it's not worth fixing. I just clear the error after starting.

Is it a e-hydro?

Yes, it is.

I think all 4720s are, but i wanted to ask.

All 4720's with factory cab are e-hydro but some open-station units have power reverser I believe.

Do the headlights work?

No but that's because I needed the fuse for another circuit. I really gotta visit NAPA soon
