Oil & Fuel Synthetic motor oil

I recently bought a 2005 M6800 and it will see considerable use this winter in Northern NH. I want to use synthetic motor oil to hasten lubrication in near zero temperatures. I found the Kubota USA lubricant schedule very confusing as it says nothing about the engine type in the M6800 but states that if there is no EGR then do not use API CJ-4 oil. The owner's manual I have is for a 2002 and states that API CF oil should be used. Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil says that it meets CF rating but the container clearly states "for gasoline engines". Can/should I use this oil as it is NOT CJ-4 rated and all the diesel synthetics are.

Use Valvoline SynPower. It is CF rated for gasoline AND diesel engines. I use it because the BX24 calls for 10W-30 CF rated.

Or, Shell Rotella 5w-40 synthetic. Just another option.

Or Mobil1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5-40. That is what I use. (they have the 5 gallon containers at Walmart)

Mobil Delvac 1 is also good but hard to find.

I would never use Mobil again, I used for years until I called there CS..They are rude and do not know much.. I switched to another oil place.

The problem with Mobil 1 Diesel Truck and the Shell Rotella Synthetic is that they are both CJ-4 rated and Kubota's Lubricant Schedule states not to use that in engines that do not have EGR. I have not seen any of the other oils listed here, they must be in specific parts stores? I just need to know if the CF rating on the Mobil 1 Extended Performance means that it is suitable for my diesel engine. Does anyone know if that is the case?

At your Kubota dealer, they sell 10w-30, their own label. That would be what most guys use up here in Northern Michigan for cold weather starts. That's not quite as low a flow rate as you would like, but the best Kubota can do as they don't sell a 5w-X oil, AFAIK.

If you are wondering whether you could/should use that specific Mobil-1 in your tractor, then just call your dealer and ask him!!! Would he not give you a straight answer? Call Messick or Barlows, if he won't.

Finally this. Your manual is out of date. Likely printed off materials from 2003 or 2004. Times change, recommendations change and those old printed manuals can throw you a bum steer.

Here is a quote from another thread on this subject.
"I contacted Kubota this summer with the same question. If you do a search, you will see that I was told CJ-4 oils are perfectly fine for your diesel tractors. Kubota has not updated their manuals or web site to reflect the change. I was told it is just a matter of time (slow moving corporate issues) before this happens. CJ-4 is the newest spec. for diesel rated oils and is compatible with LSD and ULSD fuels. The oil change intervel is still the same. This really is no longer an issue and you should not be concerned about it. You will see that within a year ALL diesel oils will be a CJ-4 spec. CI spec oil is still avaiable but will shortly be out of stock since the CJ-4 spec replaces it.
I'm sure some will disagree with me, and that's fine. I did my homework and will stick with what the Kubota engineer told me over the phone.
We also discussed viscosity grades and he told me using 5w-40 Rotella or the 15w-40 Rotella (synthetic or otherwise) is fine for where I live (central Virginia).
