Military Polaris RZR

The line of Polaris' defense models of UTV and ATV have been around for a while, but when I was scanning through the list today, I found this and thought you all might be interested in seeing it.

That is a neat side by side. I wonder if it has a diesel engine? I want one.

I would doubt it. Polaris has only had one diesel in the past to my knowledge-the 455 Diesel Sportsman ATV. And when I was inquiring about the 6x6 last night, we asked if they were ever going to have a diesel engine, and he said they haven't found a good diesel that physically fits in it.

I would think they would have to offer it in a diesel for the military to use it. I don't believe they would carry around cans of gasoline just for that one piece of equipment.

"The MV800 is the first Polaris military machine to feature the Patriot Engine with Electronic Direct Fuel Injection. The 760cc, 40-hp, spark ignition engine is powered by JP8, the U.S. military's standard fuel.
The new engine, developed in partnership with Australian-based Orbital Corporation, provides the new MV800 ATV with a patented, unique technology that allows the engine to deliver almost twice the horsepower of traditional diesel compression engines of this size.

the specs look like the specs on my rzr s except for the rear tire size. same width,same top speed.

FYI, JP-8 is the more "environmentally friendly" replacement for JP-4. It's similar to kerosene... with different additives than normal diesel fuel.
