Hi everyone,
After a record warm November in my part of the world, Old Man Winter set in last Friday dumping about 8" of the "white stuff" on us, but what I hate is what I woke up to this morning. It was -34 C and a high of -22 C which is supposed to hang around for another week or so. What is nice is the cab on the L3540 which I envisioned enjoying when I got the tractor in April. It did not dissapoint, after years of freezing my butt in an open station tractor, I had to unzip the coat, and enjoy some tunes. The little JD 2305 watched the Kubota from the shed and may be employed on a warm day. In the meantime, it is time to stoke up the fireplace.
Wishing Everyone a Safe and Festive Holiday Season,
Jake

There is no better feeling having the warmth of the cab and being relaxed doing what you love to do. I will never go back to a open station.

I wish we had snow in Tennessee like that......

We had a mild November too and the last few days have been hitting the -30'sC at night but we have NO SNOW:(
I bought the B3030HSDC late last winter so enjoyed the cab a little bit there, had to troll the neighbourhood to find more snow to move since my yard was in pretty good shape already. Over the summer I bought a front mount Kubota blower, they were on sale in June:rolleyes:. Now I would really like to try it out but we barely have a ground cover. Seems like most everyone else in the country has snow except here. I've tried complaining about it but the people I have complained to, except the snow packers (snowmobilers) think I am crazy.
It's bound to snow, this is Canada, the Great White North, after all.

Did you get a good price on the front blower??

Same here, but we are supposed to get snow tonight.

Brace yourself brandoro, I just watched the weather forecast, it is to get colder by the weekend, I heard the dreaded -40ish, then relief in about ten days.
I used to wait until it warmed a bit before I plowed snow unless it was absolutely necessary, besides being hard on me, the iron is sometimes just "better left alone" when it is soooo cold. I store my equipment in an unheated shed, but plug the tractor/s in for several hours before starting. The loader, rear blade combo works out pretty well, I have used a blower on my 318 garden tractor which is hard to beat (snow blower), the front blade on my 2305 works great too, but I can handle the extra seat time when I'm cozy. Yes I think the open station for this is history unless it's a super warm winter day.
I saw a picture of a B3030 about this time last year when I started thinking of a cab tractor, not being near a Kubota dealer, I was not sure how physically big it was. When I went to look at one, I thought I should go with a bit heavier machine as I already had the JD 2305 and a couple of GTs. The 3030HSTC is a very nice tractor and I read and heard of a lot of positive reviews. My next choice was the L3240 but the dealer said there were very few "on the ground" in Alberta, and I would probably be looking at a price increase to order 1 in. He was able to find and get a hold of the 3540 for me. So far, very pleased.
Take care everyone, nice chatting

Jake
