On my 3720 Cab, My brakes keep getting stuck on me.... I noticed there is no grease fitting on the lever that the Cable is actually pulling... just a spring.... It will really bog the tractor down, at full throttle, the best speed I can do is 4 mph, when they get stuck.... I keep having to go behind the machine, and spray WD40 on the linkage... then sometimes it will reset itself? Anyone else have this problem yet? If so? how did you correct it? And yes, I need to use my brakes all the time....

Never had that issue. If it under waranty I would have the dealer look at it. Or take it apart and grease it.

Dunno what to tell you...got 125 hrs on my 3520 Cab and I've never used the brakes...

So Spraying WD40 "fixes" the issue? if so, I'd probably remove everything and apply a liberal dose of Anti-Seize or grease...If you dont feel like or dont have the time to take it apart use some of the aerosol type anti-sieze...

'nuther Q.....is it the cable itself or the linkage?

I have the same problem with my 3320 cab. I have even added a couple springs to tension the linkage back. I have not taken the wheel off and taken everything apart yet to see if I can identify the problen. I almost never use the brakes so I have gotten by. Really want to know if you find a fix.

Is this the parking brake or the regular brakes?

Ok You guys shamed me into getting this problem fixed. Crazy to be driving around not using brakes. I took off the left rear wheel, removed one of the two factory installed springs and tapped the brake mechanism back and forth. It moved with way too much resistance both directions. It appears that it has two parts I suppose to limit the left side brake. They should move independantly? No spring attached to tyhe second part but there is a lever arm with a hole in it. I sprayed lots of wd on the whole thing worked it back and forth for a while it is loosening up but not good enough for real use. My plan is to let the oil work overnight and see how it is in the morning.

You guys need to throw that WD40 away and get a real penetrate/lubricant like Fluid Film or PB Blaster.

i really like fluid film and thought I would try to clear things out with wd then put the fluid film 0n after I figured out what was causing the problem. Anyone have a good understanding of the 3000 serieis brake system. I did niot want to drive out tyhe pin that apparently holds it all on the shafy before I knew what I was doing.

Have you looked at the diagram in JD Parts?

Not trying to hijack the thread but FF and PB as Penetrant? FF has been useless IMO and PB is "better then most".....if you want REAL Penetrant, nothing beats Kroil.
