A clutch cannot multiply torque. A torque converter pumps oil, a clutch doesn't. Strike one.The torque converter in an automatic transmission does the same job as a clutch in a manual transmission.

I don't know why Ford is so against a spin on external filter. Sound like a pain in the rear to service this thing. I don't care if it has 150000 mile life or not, its just cheap insurance to help protect the trans.
Other than that I do like the Ford autos, had very good luck towing with mine and I know a few guys that plow that they have held up good.
