I think the problem is that the wheels get close to the antiscalp wheels on the mower deck with the extensions installed. I asked the dealer about that with my B2620, and he said he didn't know if it was an issuee, or not. Hopefully, I can get by without chains, or find some I can install without the extensions.

I recall when i looked up the cost of the wheel spacers on the wholegoods list there was an asteric with the wheel spacers regarding use with the belly mowers. I'd say Chuck is right, and the extra width interferes with the mower wheels. If my memory is correct (and it certainly may not be), i'm thinking its one deck there was a problem with and not the other. I might speculate there is an interference issue with the 60 inch deck but not the 72...... though, i could have that backward. I would expect your dealer could answer your concerns easily.

The wheel spacers work fine on my B2630 (same frame and MMMs) with the 60" deck. The 72" deck would be a problem because the rear caster sets farther back. I am speculating but I think the reason for the change in design is the drive over feature on the 72" deck. I have R4s so I do not know if the same is true using turf tires.

I've got the 72" MMM, but I've taken it off for the winter so I until I put it back on next spring I can't really tell where the issue might lie. I also have turf tires so maybe that makes a difference too.
My dealer doesn't appear to know why they will not fit either so if anyone finds out an answer, I'd sure appreciate hearing about it.

Just curious on the cost of the wheel spacers and how much they add to the width? Thanks for any info!

$290 list price, they add 3" total. It doesn't sound like alot, but the seat-of-the-pants stability is greatly improved.

Hmm, my dealer quoted around $350 for the spacers for my little B. I'll have to turn on the hot light, and tighten the screw just a bit. I'd do the waterboarding thing, but that has so much bad press these days.

Installed? Or out the door? Maybe they are whacking you shipping cuz they don't have them in stock. My local dealer charged me shipping even though they had them in stock.

Hmm, that probably was installed since I was getting price quotes for a front mounted blower, checking on my 100 hr service ( part of the purchase deal), and asking about chains. I ordered a set of duo grip chains from Tirechains, and will try them on before seeing if I really need the wheel extensions. They wanted about the same price for chains too, but that is about the going price since I asked about the two link version. I liked the duo grip looks better for my R-4's, and they should give very good lateral stability.
