I am mounting a snowplow on my FEL. I have single act. cylinders on plow and trying to hook up to 4way loader controls. I am assuming that this wont work. Is there some type of manifold or block that I need to use. ANyone have any ideas or help.

Thanks
Matt

The easiest way is just replace the cylinder with same size dual action cylinders.

Welcome to TBN:D

You can plug your two SA cylinders into a DA control valve, it will work fine. You did not mention what machine you have-BUT there can be a problem on some valves that have a Regen circuit that can't be bypassed. You can rean more about regen HERE.

You need to search these terms for more ideas, this has been discussed A LOT here on TBN;)

I used a separate valve for mine but you just need to use one of your loader controls, say the bucket dump, and hook one side of that valve to one cylinder and the other side of the same valve to the other cylinder. You can do this with a diverter valve. There are many threads here by people who have done this.

Consider the cylinders as "one cylinder" If you hook to the bucket controls, hook the Curl hose to one cylinder, the Dump hose to the other. Curl will either move the blade right or left depending on which cylinder you hooked up to. As one cylinder extends and moves the blade, the other cylinder will be forced to retract. Since it, (retracting cylinder), is connnected to Dump, the hydraulic oil will be directed back to sump. Dump will move the blade the opposite direction. If you don't like the direction the blade moves in relation to the controls, just reverse the connections.

Kenney thanks for that link to the the regen system. I knew I have this type of system. (learned the hard way)This was the link I was looking for. Is there a way other than trial an error to tell if a system has this type of system?Forgive me if its in the link. lol I am not going to read it.
Thanks

Do you actually understand how a power angle plow works? The "easiest way" is to just connect the cylinders to the individual work ports on the loader valve. So long as the valve is non-regenerative, it will work fine. Adding a cushioning valve to the circuit is a good choice, but not a necessity.

I works just fine. The only "problem" is your truck plow cylinders are accustomed to 1000 psi. Using 2500 psi gives you a plow angle sweep effect. It can shove the snow or gravel sideways pretty fast ! And that's pretty handy, too.

Let me tell you!!! I could do a hockey slap shot with my contraption if I'm not careful with feathering the 3rd SCV lever. still have to try some type of home brew in line restrictor.
JB.

So is there any way to make the plow work with constant regen?
