On some tractors, when you remove the backhoe, you have to hook up a hydraulic hose to make the three-point work. If yours is like this, unhook and rehook the quick connects. As you know, each QC has a valve in the end of it, and sometimes re-seating them will fix the problem.
I second that, especially if it is an Amerequip hoe with those wretched quick connects that kinda/sorta connect.
I'm not feeling good about the 10 minute delay though.
I still suggest you get a good look around where the linkages go into the axle.
Up high on the left side, starting at that "extra" lever that pokes up.
Follow the rod that is connected to it, find the one that comes from the left side of the rock shaft and the one that comes (crossed from the right side) from the position lever.
The rock shaft one indicates where things currently ARE, the one from the position lever indicates where you want things to go TO.
Draft control and that extra lever "modify" the position lever's input.
It is even POSSIBLE that the hose coming back from the loader to your hoe is hooked over these linkages and creating a minor jam. If not the hose itself, maybe a hose protector sleeve.
BTW, that hose might be going OUT TO, or coming BACK FROM the loader, I don't remember which way the flow goes.
