Thanks Bird

I am in Texas 2 months a year on business. People often ask how we can live with the cold and snow up here. My reply is always the same. The same way you all live with the heat and drought down there.

It's all relative isn't it.

Yup, I would love to spend a month or more, driving to Alaska and going through places just like you mentioned. Doubt it will ever happen, but dreaming is nice.:)

Steve,

We got about 8" so far. Did first run of our lane plus a few neighbors' driveways.
Seems to be letting up a bit - dark outside will posts pics in the AM tomorrow.

5 years here and what do you know, we actually have a couple of hills good for sledding (first time we really had any good snow).

Nephews came up to visit late today from Charlotte (over night visit), and the first thing they did when they got out of the van was take their sled out and run behind the house!

Have a light down back and I'm going to take them night sledding:D

Yesterday we got about 4", and I'm becoming a dang southerner because I didn't even have a gameplan to clean off the cars.

Seriously, I didn't fake that in. The only thing I can say for sure is that I had graded the drive a few days prior and I'm sure that had something to do with it. If you look in the circle drive it's not covered and I did not grade that part. Must have somehow let more heat escape from the graded part, perhaps moisture evaporation from the turned over material?

We got about 3" at the most :(. I plowed though, so all was not lost.
