Got one as a Christmas gift. Here's a quick review for those who may have pondered having one.

It's Great!!!

No, seriously. It's pretty darn good. Works off a power point. Stick it where you want it, need it. Move it. For only $20 at TSC? I'd give it two thumbs up.

I just bought one the other day. Now I have to hook up a power point. I picked up a "weatherproof" one from Autozone a while back (have to find the darn thing!).

Can I tap into the trailer harness pigtail on the back of my tractor as a power source?

There are a number of good options. Wire it to a power point, if you want a power point for something else, like an iPod. If you just want the light to always be on, any hot wire will work, I suppose. I wouldn't want it that way. I think I would like it in my running lights circuit and may wire it into that later on. For now, I will simply plug it in and unplug it, as needed.

Some newer tractors provide an unused lead under the seat or rear fender for additional lighting options.

Looks like a handy multi use light, I have a handheld one that I almost never use (sits in a box), I would use it more if it had a magnetic base. Could just leave it stuck on the tractor somewhere and have it ready to use when ever needed.

I had to put my own aux 12 volt power source outlet on, was surprised that my expensive, advanced JD didn't have one from the factory :(

I could use one of those.
Does it have something over the magnet to keep it from scratching the paint?

Harbor Freight has a magnetic ground block that has a very similar magnet with a hole in the middle for $6 - Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices I used 2 to mount some lights on my tractor when I need them. Might work for your handheld light.

I like it. I will get one.
I am thinking of using a weatherproof switch (maybe mounted through the lights housing) and using the existing work light circuit that is tucked under the back of my BX 2660

I've got a TSC Blazer stuck to the chute on a Farm King 60" blower. I wired up a power point inside the cab of my B3030 and simply plug in when needed. The wire is run right out the rear window and I just close the window on the wire. So far there doesn't seem to be an issue with window gasket or wire.
Decent light for the money and does what little I ask of it.
